OPWDD

Step 2 — The Front Door

The Front Door is OPWDD's intake. Once eligible, you'll attend orientation, meet with a Front Door specialist, and pick a Care Coordination Organization (CCO).

Documents needed

  • Eligibility letter
  • Insurance / Medicaid cards
  • List of current providers

How to prepare

  1. Attend the Front Door information session (in person or virtual).
  2. Research the CCOs that operate in your county (there are several).
  3. Prepare your top 3 goals before the meeting.

What to ask your team

  • Which CCOs serve our county?
  • How quickly will we be assigned a Care Manager?
  • What services can start immediately?

If you are denied or delayed

  • Front Door doesn't really 'deny' — but services can be delayed. Escalate to the Regional Office if more than 60 days.
